Diabetic foot ulcer: non-healing ulcer for 4 years – heals after 17 weeks with PLASOMA cold plasma system.

A 61-year-old male had a neuropathic diabetic foot ulcer since August 2020 and had undergone different treatments in the last four years. The wound was exudative and a wound culture taken in January 2021 came back positive for Staphylococcus aureus and antibiotics were prescribed. He was treated with a total contact cast and orthopaedic shoes in the last two months before the start of PLASOMA cold plasma treatment. PLASOMA treatment started on the 2nd of February 2021 as an additional treatment to standard of care.

Wound closed in 17 weeks.
